1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account on Nexus Sophia, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users of nexussophia.com.

2. Who can use Nexus Sophia

You may use Nexus Sophia if you are:

  • At least 18 years old
  • A graduate student, researcher, academic, or someone engaged in legitimate research activity
  • Capable of entering into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction

You may not use Nexus Sophia if you are prohibited from doing so by the laws of your country.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not share your password with anyone. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@nexussophia.com.

4. Your research content

You own all research content you create on Nexus Sophia — your documents, chapters, citations, and notes. By uploading content to the platform, you grant Nexus Technologies a limited licence to store and process it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your thesis or research work, and we do not use it for any other purpose.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use Nexus Sophia only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Submit content that is fraudulent, defamatory, or violates any law
  • Use the platform to plagiarise or misrepresent others' work as your own
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the platform or its servers
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the platform
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent any restrictions
  • Upload malicious files or content designed to harm other users
  • Impersonate another person or entity

6. AI-generated content

Nexus Sophia uses artificial intelligence to assist with research writing. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information
  • You are responsible for verifying all AI-generated content before submitting it as part of your academic work
  • You are responsible for complying with your institution's policies on the use of AI in academic work
  • Nexus Technologies is not liable for any academic consequences arising from your use of AI-generated content

7. Citation accuracy

While we make every effort to provide accurate citation data from external academic databases, you are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all citations before including them in your research. Always check citations against the original source.

8. Intellectual property

The Nexus Sophia platform, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Nexus Technologies and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

9. Availability

We aim to keep Nexus Sophia available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or encounter technical issues that cause temporary downtime. We are not liable for any loss arising from platform unavailability.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nexus Technologies is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, academic consequences, or lost research. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or GHS 100 if you have paid nothing).

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in conduct that harms other users or the platform. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email of significant changes. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
